Stillingsbeskrivelse

Jeg jobber som professor, med hovedinteresser innenfor utdanningssosiologi og ungdomssosiologi.

Min forskning fokuserer på ulike distinksjonskategorier, som sosial og geografisk bakgrunn samt kjønn, og utforsker hvordan disse kategoriene manifesterer seg i forskjellige sammenhenger og kontekster. Dette gjør at jeg er opptatt av å undersøke ulike sosiale systemer og sosiale institusjoner, relevante for barn og unge, knyttet til blant annet utdanning, arbeid og fritid. Hvordan spiller ulike bakgrunnsvariabler seg ut innenfor disse systemene og institusjonene, og hvordan kan dette føre til produksjon og reproduksjon av sosiale forskjeller?
