Course content

The course of Industry X.0 aims at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and technologies shaping the future of manufacturing industries. Industry X.0 is the term used to summarize the coming industrial revolution, i.e., Industry 4.0/5.0/6.0, which is a human-centric, resilient and sustainable societal transition driven by emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, smart robotics, and digital twins.

In this course, some key drivers and enablers of Industry X.0 will be explored, and their ways of transforming the manufacturing industries will be discussed. The course consists of a two-week intensive teaching. The first week focuses on smart manufacturing and robotics, and the second week focuses on smart logistics and operations.

Students will study the latest advances in relevant technologies and how they are being used to improve operational effectiveness, reduce costs, increase sustainability through a human- centric point of view.

Additionally, the challenges and opportunities of Industry X.0 in transforming traditional manufacturing systems, supply chains, and business processes will be discussed. By completing this course, students will obtain a solid understanding of how Industry X.0 will change the business landscape today. Whether you are an entrepreneur, a manager, or an engineer, this course will provide the tools and knowledge you need to become successful in the next industrial revolution.
